Navrasa Duende Pvt. Ltd. presents Instincts

Known as 'King of Naga Folk Blues' by the public and 'Cultural Ambassador of the Nagas' by the journalist, Guru Rewben is a talented singer, musician, songwriter, folk music researcher and maker of musical instruments. He plays the guitar producing an ethnic folk sound like no one can, the mouth organ, the four hole flute known as yangkahui, the tingteila (folk fiddle) and his rare cowbell percussion. He is known for reviving the musical tradition of the Tangkhul Nagas. His music is famous for use of traditional musical instruments. Apart from performing pan India, and abroad, Guru Mashangva has been featured in the first season of The Dewarists along with The Raghu Dixit Project.

Advaita is a band based in New Delhi, India. From their inception in 2004, their brand of contemporary ‘organic’ Indian psychedelic music has been hailed as one of the most original and creative sounds to ever come out of the Indian underground music scene. Nowhere else can one hear a sarangi, tabla, and Hindustani Classical vocalist blend so effortlessly, yet so exotically with guitars, drums, and keyboards. In 2009 Advaita launched their first album on EMI records titled Grounded In Space and this really catapulted the status of the band. Recorded at the famed Yash Raj studios, Mumbai, the album was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful. Later that year, Advaita was one of only four bands from India selected by famous producer John Leckie for the British Council Soundpad Project, recording 2 songs for a globally released compilation as well as touring the UK. More international gigs followed with a trip to Singapore.

Born in Mawlai, Phudmari, Shillong on the 14th of April 1947 Lou Majaw 's first encounter with the guitar was in 1955 at The Sacred Hearts Boy's Boarding School. Moving on to Don Bosco Technical School in 1959 to learn to tailor he spent the next three years till 1962 as part of the school band playing guitar and side drum, Genis, Sax, and Trumpet in the School Orchestra. In 1965 he found himself with an opportunity to travel and headed to Calcutta. After initial hardship he was soon playing in Park Street, then the Mecca for musicians in India. The Bands that he played with and sang for were Little Richard and the Small Frys et al. Seeing his potential as a solo draw Mr.Joshua, the owner of Trinca's, gave him a stage name 'Louis Lewis' and a solo spot. This is where Lou Majaw started honing his craft as performer and player.
