High Street Phoenix presents Awestrung ft. The Local Train & Indian Ocean
He has a voice that is leading the new sound of Hindi Rock. A natural on the stage, his candid presence, and his wit are what people connect to. He is bold, cheeky and audacious, the vocalist, Raman Negi. Starting at the young age of 5, he was destined to be the powerhouse on drums. A veteran drummer already in the field, he has worked with some of the greatest names in India as well as the International circuit. He is the Prodigy, Sahil Sarin. He left it all to become the driving force behind the guitar-driven music of The Local Train. Technically sound and a perfectionist in his art, his control on his instrument give the necessary edge to the band. He is the Guitarist with vision, Paras Thakur. He is an explosive ball of energy on stage. Years of trying his hand at various fields made him the perfect guy in charge of handling the groove on stage and off the stage as well. He is the man with a mission and a bass guitar, Ramit Mehra.
And when these four magical prodigious minds come together, they form an independent rock band known for their hit singles and edgy music videos. With an explosive live act in their arsenal, they have performed at some of the most prestigious stages across the country. They are now considered to be the genre-defining new face of Hindi rock or 'Hindie' rock. Taking you on a musical journey they are The Local Train.
Indian Ocean is Amit Kilam (Drums, percussion, and vocals), Rahul Ram (Bass guitar and vocals), Himanshu Joshi (Vocals), Tuheen Chakravorty (Tabla and another percussion), & Nikhil Rao (Guitar). Formed in the early '90s, Indian Ocean has been one of the spearheads of the Indian rock scene. Their unique sound of contemporary rock mixed with classical, jazz and fusion have earned them a cult following. Their band has managed to maintain this inimitable sound in all their albums and have attained some rave reviews from critics. Some of the themes of their songs are Sufism, environmentalism, and mythology. Definitely exclusive in what they do, Indian Ocean has toured all over India and played all across the globe
